INTRODUCTION

In line with the announcement made in the 2023 Budget, the Government has implemented the Special Voluntary Disclosure Programme (SVDP) 2.0 as one of the initiatives to expand the number of taxpayers and increase the level of tax compliance. SVDP 2.0 provides the opportunity to taxpayers to voluntarily pay the tax they are liable to without any penalty. It will be implemented by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (HASiL) and the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) from 6 June 2023 to 31 May 2024.
